Sheffield Lake Sprint Triathlon/ Duathlon

Parking at Shoreway Shopping Center
Swim – Out and back ¼ mile total distance.
Transition – Run through the parking lot, bikes on north side, finish line on south side,
bike out west entrance, turn east.
Bike: 1.Lake Road east into Avon Lake, turning right on Hermann
2.Hermann south to Electric turn left (east)
3.Electric east to Armour (next street) turn left (north)
4.Armour north to Lake, turn left (west)
5.Lake back to Boat Launch
Run: Out the west entrance, go west 1.55 miles (about ½ mile past Root Road, turn around and back to
finish line entering from the west entrance of the park – running west to east to the finish line.
Skate: East to Rt. 83, south to Electric, east to Armour Rd., north to Lake, west back to
boat launch parking lot.

We will be using a staggered start for the swim portion of the race to help alleviate overcrowding in all portions of the race. Each wave (group) will start 4 minutes after the previous wave. Please locate your age/team category in the listing below so that you will know into which grouping you have been placed.
Males 44 - Under Start Time 8:00 A.M.
Males 45 - Over, AND Clydesdales Start Time + 4 minutes
Females 39 - Under Start Time + 8 minutes
Females 40 - Over, Athenas, AND all Relay Teams Start Time + 12 minutes
Each racer will receive a claim bag with his/her number on it at the registration table to stow personal items during the race. For example, you may stow your shoes during the swim portion, and then stow your wet suit during the bike portion of the race. (This area will be supervised at all times for your protection.)
Presented to top male and top female overall
& top 3 males and top 3 females in each age division.
This event will be scored by Champ Racing, using the ChampionChip® Timing System. On race day, runners will be issued a RENTAL computer chip that is attached to the shoelace and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish will record a finishing time for each chip. All rental chips MUST be returned at the finish line.
Huntington Sprint Triathlon/Duathlon

Huntington Beach Park in Bay Village, Ohio
Pre-race packet pick-up (optional) will be held on Saturday, July 13, from 1-4 PM at Huntington Beach Park (south side of Lake Rd.) at the picnic area where the Transition Area will be on race day. Racers will still need to get body markings and chips on Sunday.
The Course:
Triathlon - A 1/4-Mile Swim in Lake Erie, a 12-Mile Bike, and a 5K Run
Duathlon - 5K Run, 12-Mile Bike, 5K Run

Wave 3 Start Time 8:18 A.M. Males 40 - 54 (Codes H - J) Purple Caps
Wave 4 Start Time 8:22 A.M. Males 55 & Over / Clydesdales / Teams (Codes K - O, EE - GG) Blue Caps
Wave 5 Start Time 8:26 A.M. Females 34 & Under (Codes P - U) Orange Caps
Wave 6 Start Time 8:30 A.M. Females 35 & Over / Athenas (Codes V - DD) Pink Caps

Signs will be posted, and volunteers will be stationed, at points along the route to help racers navigate the courses.
Bikes racks will be provided at the bike/run transition area.
Although police assistance will be available, approach intersections with caution.
Roads will be open to traffic during the race. Protective headgear is MANDATORY.
Please, no drafting (minimum one bike length).
